December 08, (THEWILL) — UK grime rapper, Justin Clarke-Samuel, popularly known as Ghetts, has admitted causing the death of 20-year-old student, Yubin Tamang, in a hit‑and‑run crash in north‑east London.
The crash occurred on October 18, 2025, when Ghetts’ BMW struck Tamang on Redbridge Lane East in Ilford.
According to the police, Ghetts failed to stop at the scene. Tamang died in hospital two days later.
At a hearing on December 8, at London’s Old Bailey, Ghetts pleaded guilty to causing Tamang’s death by dangerous driving.
He also admitted a separate count of dangerous driving from earlier that day.
Court documents show he may face additional charges, including causing death by careless driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
Ghetts appeared via videolink from Pentonville prison. He is currently in custody, and the judge said he should expect a jail sentence, though the length has not yet been decided.
He was also banned from driving, but the duration of the ban is still unknown.
The award‑winning rapper, known in the UK grime scene for his music and his role in the Netflix series Supacell, now awaits sentencing on February 12, 2026.
