June 28, (THEWILL) – Unknown gunmen on Monday, reportedly invaded Nduegu Achi community, in Ohaukwu Local government area of Ebonyi state.
One person, whose name was yet to be identified at press time, was killed during the invasion.
It was gathered that the said unknown gunmen, equally set ablaze many houses, while they abducted many to an unknown destination.
THEWILL learnt that the people of the area, fled from the community for fear of being killed by the said gunmen.
An anonymous eyewitness, who spoke to Journalists in Abakaliki, said that the gunmen invaded the community and started shooting sporadically, and in the process, killed one person and abducted many others.
He noted further that the number of houses razed as at press time were numerous.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebonyi state command, SP Chris Anyanwu, said the command is yet to be briefed on the incident.
He said as soon as he is briefed about details of the invasion, he would brief the press.
