April 17, (THEWILL) — American rapper and singer David Anthony Burke, known professionally as d4vd, has been arrested in Los Angeles in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl.
Police said the 21-year-old was taken into custody on April 16, 2026, on suspicion of involvement in the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
He is currently being held without bail.
Authorities said the case will be reviewed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether formal charges will be filed.
The arrest follows a months-long investigation that began after the teenager’s remains were discovered in September 2025.
Her body was found in the trunk of a car linked to Burke at a tow yard in Hollywood.
Investigators said the remains were badly decomposed and had likely been in the vehicle for an extended period.
Reports indicate the victim had been reported missing several times in 2024 before her final disappearance in April of that year.
Burke’s legal team has denied the allegations, stating that he was not responsible for the teenager’s death and that they will challenge the claims in court.
The case has attracted widespread attention, partly due to Burke’s rising music career. He gained popularity in 2022 with his song “Romantic Homicide.”
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no formal conviction has been made.
