May 13, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, aka Saint Obi, is dead. He was aged 57.
The veteran actor died after a protracted illness about a week ago, but the family chose not to announce his death for reasons yet to be ascertained.
THEWILL gathered that he allegedly battled an undisclosed ailment for some time and was reported to have relocated to Jos, Plateau State capital, where one of his siblings lives, for further treatment of the undisclosed ailment.
However, the actor was sighted about three weeks ago at the airport, but didn’t look like someone who was battling any illness.
Actors Guild of Nigeria and the deceased family are yet to release an official statement about his demise.
The late actor had a running battle with his estranged wife, Linda Amobi, for a long time over the custody of their three children.
Saint Obi was the favourite of many home video lovers in the late 90s and early 2000 before he suddenly stopped appearing in movies. He had featured in over 100 movies before his demise.
