May 14, (THEWILL) – Veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George has made a heartfelt appeal to the public for assistance as she battles severe health challenges, homelessness, and the pain of a missing child, while also struggling to care for her grandchildren.
Speaking during an emotional interview on the TalkToB show hosted by actress Abiola Adebayo, George revealed that she currently lives in a church, survives on the goodwill of others, and is unable to afford basic medical treatment.
“I don’t have a home. I don’t have anything. My first child, Adeola, has been missing for the past four years. I’m not in good health. I’m tired and worn out.
“I’m staying in the church, and most times, it’s the church mummy that feeds me,” she said, holding back tears.
Despite her condition, the Nollywood star said she remains the sole caregiver for her grandchildren.
“I’ve been sick since January and I’ve done several tests. Now, I need to undergo brain and heart tests that cost N400,000. I don’t know where to get the money,” she added.
Her emotional plea has since sparked sympathy and support from fans and industry colleagues, many of whom have begun mobilising help for the ailing actress.
