July 24, (THEWILL) — Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has appealed to Nigerians for financial support as she battles an undisclosed illness that has left her hospitalized for three weeks.
The actress said she urgently needs ₦30 million to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, Nwosu, who appeared lying on a hospital bed, pleaded with fans, family members, colleagues and well-wishers not to abandon her during the difficult period.
“My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalized now for three weeks.
“The situation has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die,” she said.
The actress said she has been in severe pain and is preparing to undergo three surgeries. She appealed to anyone willing to support her treatment to contact her management team.
In the caption accompanying the video, Nwosu said asking for help was one of the hardest decisions she had made but that the urgency of her condition left her with no choice.
She also shared her account details and encouraged those who could not donate to help by sharing her appeal.

This is not the first time the veteran actress has sought public support for medical treatment.
The In 2012, she battled kidney and heart-related complications and received financial assistance from the Lagos State Government and members of the public, enabling her to travel to the United Kingdom for treatment.

Nwosu is one of Nollywood’s most recognizable actresses, with a career spanning more than three decades. She rose to prominence with her role as Ego in the 1992 classic Living in Bondage, where she starred alongside Kenneth Okonkwo in the landmark film widely credited with launching modern Nollywood.
She also earned widespread acclaim for playing Peace (Peaceful Peace), the outspoken Igbo wife in Amaka Igwe’s hit sitcom Fuji House of Commotion, a role that remains one of the most memorable of her career.
Nwosu further cemented her place in Nollywood with standout performances in Osuofia in London alongside Nkem Owoh and the popular web series Skinny Girl in Transit, introducing her talent to a new generation of viewers.
