March 29, (THEWILL) – The England Football Association has charged analysts from both Aston Villa and Arsenal after an altercation during an English Premier League game last month.
Villa’s Head of Performance Analysis, Victor Manas, and Arsenal’s Technical Analyst, Miguel Molina, clashed during celebrations of Arsenal’s third goal on February 18.
According to an FA statement, Manas’s behaviour during the 94th minute was allegedly improper and/or violent, and his behaviour in the tunnel after the final whistle was also deemed improper. The same charges and similar wording were applied to Molina’s behaviour and/or language during the 94th minute and in the tunnel after the final whistle.
The match ended 4-2 with substitute Gabriel Martinelli adding a fourth for Arsenal deeper into added time. The charged analysts have until March 31 to respond to the allegations. The incident highlights the importance of professional conduct both on and off the field of play.
