December 07, (THEWILL) – In an all-Premier League clash, Liverpool great Steven Gerrard will play Manchester United in the FA Cup third round, with his Aston Villa side travelling to Old Trafford according to the draw.
This means the rejuvenated Gerrard’s Villa will face Manchester United twice in a week, with the cup match taking place on the 7th and 10th of January 2022, followed by a Premier League match a week later.
In other FA Cup action, non-league Chesterfield will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the third round. James Rowe’s side, who eliminated Salford City in the second round, has earned a high-profile match at the eight-time champions’ ground.
