February 21, (THEWILL) – Wendy Williams’ talk show is officially ending in June after 14 seasons and will be replaced by Sherri Shepard’s talk show in the fall.
According to sources close to the production crew, Sherri Shepherd’s deal was finalized after canceling Williams’ talk show.
“The producers informed everyone that the show was being canceled at the end of June. Then in the next breath, they hired everyone to work on the new Sherri show,” the source told the outlet.
It was also reported that the official @wendyshow Instagram account is no longer under her control.
Before the cancellation, producers were reportedly scrambling to find a replacement for Williams’ show after she took medical leave due to health issues.
Production sources say that Wendy has been ‘checked out’ for quite some time and had become increasingly difficult to work with prior to her medical leave.
Williams has been absent from her show all this season, as she has been battling ongoing health issues.
