August 5, (THEWILL) — Yoruba Nollywood actress and producer Temitope Osoba has died at the age of 40 after a battle with breast cancer.
Her colleague and close associate, actor Alesh Ola Sanni, announced her passing on Instagram, revealing that the actress died on Tuesday evening.
He wrote: “Couldn’t sleep since last night it’s well rest in peace my dearest sister Temitope Osoba we had an amazing time and good memories together till we meet again. I really dunno what to say mehn gosh.”
Osoba’s death comes after she publicly shared her battle with breast cancer, which began after she discovered a lump during a self-examination.
She underwent her first surgery in November 2024 and later appealed for financial support to help with further treatment.
In August 2025, the actress announced her return to acting after sharing updates on her recovery.
She described the comeback as a new chapter in her life and said she was more determined to share her story and inspire others facing similar health challenges.
Known for her roles in Yoruba films including “Ile Owo,” “Omo Iya Kan,” and “Gucci Girls,” Osoba also worked as a producer and became recognised for her contributions to the Yoruba film industry.
She began her acting career in 2005 and gained wider attention through appearances in several Yoruba movie productions.
