April 01, (THEWILL) — American rapper Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to hospital after feeling very ill during her performance of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on Broadway in New York on Tuesday night.
Her representative said: “Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”
The 31‑year‑old had to leave the show mid-performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where she recently made her Broadway debut as Zidler, the show’s charismatic host.
Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, wrote on X: “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.”
Megan’s run in the musical, scheduled through May 17, marks her first time playing this role on Broadway. She had previously expressed excitement about joining the show and embracing the challenge of live theatre.
Fans and fellow performers have sent well-wishes on social media, hoping she makes a full and speedy recovery.
