May 11, (THEWILL) — Britney Spears reflected on her “spiritual journey” in an Instagram post after pleading guilty to reckless driving following her arrest for driving under the influence.
The 44-year-old pop star shared a photo of a yellow-and-white baby snake, writing: “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is… Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck.”
She added,“I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise. I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never-ending journey, and sometimes I just stop, look up, and say, ‘Wow, God, I think that was you,’ and smile on!!!!”
Spears was pulled over on March 4 and later pleaded guilty to a “wet reckless,” a lesser California traffic charge. She was sentenced to one day in jail, credited as time served, and 12 months of probation.
Her attorney, Michael Goldstein, said Spears has taken steps to make positive changes, which influenced the decision to reduce the charge.
As part of her sentence, Spears must complete a three-month alcohol and drug education program, attend weekly sessions with a psychologist, meet with a psychiatrist twice a month, and avoid alcohol and non-prescribed drugs.
Spears voluntarily checked into a treatment facility in April.
Her family, including sons Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19, has been supportive, and Kevin Federline, the father of her children, said he supports her decision to get help.
