April 09, (THEWILL) — South Korean K‑pop supergroup BTS launched their highly anticipated “ARIRANG” world tour on Thursday with a sold‑out show at Goyang Stadium near Seoul.
This marks the band’s first major tour following a nearly four‑year hiatus for mandatory military service.
Despite heavy rain, thousands of fans, known as ARMY, filled the stadium as band members RM, Jin, Suga, j‑hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook performed sets featuring both their new album and classic hits.
The tour will visit 34 cities worldwide, setting a record for the most tour dates by a K‑pop artist.
The concerts feature BTS’s fifth studio album, “ARIRANG”, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, including the hit single “Swim,” which also topped the Billboard Hot 100.
The tour continues through North America, Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia, concluding in Manila in March 2027.
The tour is expected to bring in massive earnings, rivaling other major international tours.
