March 26, (THEWILL) – Zambia’s Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala were at their best as they helped their team to a 2-0 victory against Lesotho at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The duo’s performance saw the Copper Bullets advance in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. Zambia dominated the game from the start and asserted themselves on the ball early on.

With 13 minutes on the clock, Sakala and Daka broke through the Lesotho backline to take the lead. Sakala provided the assist for Daka’s goal as he found the back of the net while warding off two defenders.

Despite making little progress toward the Lesotho goal in the first half, Zambia headed into the break unscathed with their 1-0 lead intact. Lesotho tried to turn the tide by making changes in the second half, but Zambia remained in control of the tie. Sakala and Daka linked up once again in the 68th minute to double Zambia’s lead, securing their team’s win.

The Zambians top Group H after four matches on nine points while Lesotho, which are still rock bottom, have no chance of making it to Cote d’Ivoire with just one point.
