January 05, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, has paid an emotional tribute to her late father following his death on January 1, 2026.
In an Instagram post, the actress said she was “totally heartbroken” but found comfort in knowing that her father is now free from pain. She thanked him for the memories, laughter, and values he instilled in her and her siblings.
Dakore also spoke fondly of her father’s love for music and fashion, noting that he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She wrote:
“My Darling #dakorians Dearest Papa passed away on the 1st of January 2026. Daddy, may your soul rest in perfect peace and power.
“I’m so totally heartbroken yet glad that you’re free from pain. I’m grateful for the memories and the laughter, your legacy of excellence that you instilled in my siblings and me, your love for music, and your sense of style!
“Despite the complexity of our family, you are immensely loved and missed beyond comprehension.
“I love you forever and till infinity and beyond. Dakorians. Pls say a word of prayer for my Dad and our family at this very difficult time as we grieve this devastating loss.”
Her brother, actor Timini Egbuson, earlier announced their father’s passing.
Since the announcement, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers have continued to send condolence messages to the family.
