
January 11, (THEWILL) — Guy Moon, the Emmy-nominated composer behind Nickelodeon animated favorites including, The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom, has died. He was 63.
Moon died on January 8 after suffering “traumatic injuries” in a traffic accident in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
His family confirmed his death in a statement shared on his Facebook page on January 10.
“We feel singularly blessed to have been able to call him dad and husband. As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life. He has left an unmistakable legacy, and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted”, the family wrote
Moon was best known for composing music for several animated series created by Butch Hartman, including The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, and T.U.F.F. Puppy.
His work on The Fairly OddParents earned him four Emmy nominations, and he also composed music for three films based on the series.
He also worked on the 2021 Johnny Test Netflix reboot, as well as The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Cow and Chicken.
Beyond television, Moon contributed music to films including Fight Club, Minority Report, Mystic Pizza, and The Brady Bunch movies. His final credited project was the 2025 series The Artist.
Hartman paid tribute to Moon on Instagram, writing, “Guy was my friend. My brother. My family. My heart is broken.”
Moon is survived by his wife and three children.
