
December 15, (THEWILL) – Funeral activities for Madam Tinuade, the late wife of former Oyo State governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, have begun.
The programme of events began on Saturday, December 14, with Islamic prayers at her husband’s residence in Bodija, Ibadan, where Islamic clerics led prayers.
Madam Ladoja, the Woman President of the Aladura Movement passed on last month at the age of 71.
On Monday December 15, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa, the pastor/spiritual head, Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, will lead other ministers to officiate at a service of songs at Rehoboth International Family Cathedral, Ibadan at 11am.
Other services of songs will take place at the Salem Evangelical Christ’s Cherubim and Seraphim Church at the Obanikoro branch in Lagos at noon on Tuesday and at the Agidingbi, Lagos branch at 5pm on Wednesday.
A Christian wake/night of tributes follows on Thursday at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos at 5pm while interment holds the next day after the lying-in-state between 8am and 9am.
The funeral service will be held at the Bemil Chapel of Epiphany on Bemil Road, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos, on the same Thursday.
The funeral activities would be rounded off on Sunday with a thanksgiving service at the CCC Unity parish, Ikeja, Lagos.
An astute business entrepreneur and philanthropist, Madam Ladoja is held in high esteem within her church and the Aladura Movement for her commitment, contribution and services towards the growth of the church.
Fondly referred to as Prophetess Mother Celestial, she surprised many when at the age of 60, she bagged a degree in theology.
A widely travelled professional secretary, she had a career in diplomatic service -serving at the Nigerian Embassy in Cotonou, Republic of Benin in the course of which she met her husband, Ladoja.
She had three daughters, two from a previous marriage.
