May 15, (THEWILL) — The search for the next James Bond has officially begun, years after Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007.
Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that auditions are underway, led by casting director Nina Gold, known for her work on “Paddington”, “Star Wars”, and “Jurassic Park”.
“While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right,” the studio said.
Speculation has been ongoing since Craig’s last Bond film, “No Time To Die”, in 2021.
Current favourites include Henry Cavill, Theo James, Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi.
The next Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve (“Dune”) with a script by “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight.
Producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are taking over from longtime Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
Amazon MGM’s head of film, Courtenay Valenti, said the studio is taking its time to make sure the next James Bond is “truly worthy of the Bond legacy.”
