May 15, (THEWILL) — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, through their production company Archewell Productions, are developing a new Netflix film based on a true story from the Afghanistan war.
The film is adapted from the book “No Way Out” by Major Adam Jowett. It focuses on British troops who defended a compound in Musa Qala, Helmand province, during heavy attacks by Taliban forces in 2006.
Prince Harry served in the British Army for 10 years, including two tours in Afghanistan, making the project personally significant to him.
The screenplay is being written by Matt Charman, known for his Oscar-nominated work on “Bridge of Spies.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will serve as co-producers on the film.
The project is the latest collaboration between the couple and Netflix and is one of several film and TV productions being developed under Archewell.
