Tuface’s Lover, Natasha Osawaru

December 05, (THEWILL) — Nigerian music icon, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has publicly condemned what he described as persistent and harmful interference by members of his family in his personal life, warning that the situation has escalated into a serious threat.

In a viral video released on Friday, the veteran singer said the actions of some relatives—purportedly undertaken to “save” him—have instead caused emotional distress, spread misinformation, and endangered his partner, Natasha.

According to 2Baba, tensions within the family and narratives fuelled online have intensified to the point where Natasha is now receiving death threats.

“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand. I am not going to be quiet anymore. I am a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want.

“My family, under the pretext of trying to save me, has actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he said.

He acknowledged that he and Natasha have had disagreements like any couple, but stressed that the hostility directed at her is unjustifiable and alarming.

He stated, “Fine, we have had our quarrels, but who doesn’t quarrel with their spouses? This is getting out of hand. I am perfectly okay.

“Everyone has seen me outside—I just did my show in Abuja and many people were there. How do you say you want to save me but you’re messing everything up? This is unfair.”

2Baba also described the issue as a recurring pattern of interference, recalling similar tensions involving his former partner, actress Annie Idibia.

“I have the right to be with whoever I want. I am not a child. I have always been a quiet, peaceful person, but this has become too much. My family did this with Annie—this same thing. We all have our differences, but this is becoming dangerous,” he added.

The video has sparked widespread conversations online, with fans expressing concern and urging all parties involved to de-escalate the growing crisis.
