September 28, (THEWILL) – Despite the fact that a number of high-profile NBA players, including Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins, have not been vaccinated, Giannis Antetokounmpo has confirmed that he has been vaccinated.

While no one can be forced to be vaccinated, the Finals MVP and reigning champion noted that his decision was quite simple. “I did what’s best for me and my family to stay protected. I’m vaccinated. It was the best decision for me to be safe.

“I am not a doctor and I don’t know what may happen down the road. But I have kids. I know right now that it’s going to keep my family safe.”

Antetokounmpo, who helped lead the Bucks to their first NBA championship since 1971 and was named Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) also mentioned his need for rest especially because of his knee: “There’s no rush for me here. I’m good to go. If I feel pain again, I have to listen to my body.”

Meanwhile, the goal remains the same for him and the Bucks, winning the title. He made it clear: “Are we satisfied? I’m not even close to being satisfied. Every NBA player who won a title had this feeling before. I am not good enough, I can’t lead my team to the title.

“But now we know we can do it and we can do it again. But now I want to be better, I want to do it again. When you win the championship you don’t relax, it’s the opposite”.
