July 02, (THEWILL) – Henrikh Mkhitaryan left Roma at the end of his contract, and has now joined Inter on a free transfer, in a move that has been confirmed with the expiration of his Roma deal.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal player signed a two-year deal at San Siro, becoming the fourth summer signing for the Nerazzurri after Romelu Lukaku, Andre Onana and Kristjan Asllani.

Following his departure from the Premier League, Mkhitaryan had a prosperous time in the Italian city, which culminated in his winning the first Europa Conference League at the conclusion of the 2021/22 season with Roma.

As one of Roma’s top players, he recently tried to renegotiate a contract with them, but they were unable to come to terms. As a result, he agreed to a contract with Serie A rivals, Inter, as a free agent.

The Armenian contributed to 14 goals last season, but his most successful campaign was in 2020/2021, when he scored 15 goals and assisted in another 13 for teammates. As Inter attempts to recapture their Serie A title from city rivals, Milan, it is expected that the versatile Mkhitaryan, now 33, will provide depth in the midfield and forward positions.
