May 28 (THEWILL) — Singer Niniola has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika, following his death on May 19, at the age of 44.
In a post shared on Instagram on Thursday, May 28, Niniola described Michael as her best friend, confidant, pillar, provider, business partner, husband and brother.
The singer, who revealed that they had been married for 13 years, said she still finds herself expecting him to walk through the door.
“I find myself waiting, expecting Michael to walk through the door”, she wrote.
Niniola said they were always together and that he never liked her being away from his side. She added that she always looked forward to him returning home whenever he went out.
Describing herself as a natural loner, the singer said Michael was all she needed because he was “one in a million.”
She also expressed deep grief over the loss, writing, “He touched my life in different capacities and God took him from me.”
The news of Ndika’s death shocked many fans and colleagues, as Niniola had largely kept her marriage and private life away from the public.
