June 8 (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she welcomed a baby girl more than two years ago and kept the news private until now.
The actress shared the announcement on Instagram on her birthday, June 7, posting maternity photos and a photo of her daughter’s hand.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.
Adunni said the journey came with “silent battles, moments that tested me, and a strength I had to grow into.”
She said she and her partner chose to keep the birth private so they could enjoy the experience away from public attention.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she wrote.
The actress described her daughter, whom she called Baby Sal, as an answered prayer after a long wait.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. A journey of almost a decade. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she wrote.
She also addressed possible speculation about her personal life, saying:
“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is a scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached.”
Adunni ended her message by stating: “No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal.”
The actress is also a mother of two sons from a previous relationship.
The announcement drew congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues, many of whom praised her decision to keep the chapter of her life private until she was ready to share it.
