April 29, (THEWILL) — Olakunle Churchill, ex-husband of actress Tonto Dikeh, has dismissed rumors of a divorce from actress Rosy Meurer, clarifying that no legally recognized marriage ever took place between them.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Churchill addressed reports of a marital crisis, calling them false and urging the public to disregard the misinformation.
He explained that their relationship only involved an “introduction” ceremony, not a church or court wedding.
“There was no legally recognized marriage, no church wedding, and no court wedding. The idea of a divorce is baseless,” he stated.
Churchill also questioned the legitimacy of the reported legal proceedings, saying he was never formally served with divorce papers and criticizing how the reports were handled.
His statement follows a recent video by Meurer on Instagram, in which she reintroduced herself without Churchill’s surname or wedding ring, describing it as a “rebirth” in her career, sparking rumors of marital issues.
The speculation about their separation intensified after reports emerged that Meurer had filed for divorce, allegedly due to Churchill’s reconciliation with Dikeh.
Churchill refuted these claims, stating that he had resolved his past issues with Dikeh and that they had both forgiven each other.
However, Churchill reiterated that there was never a legal marriage and emphasized that his focus remains on his responsibilities, particularly toward his children.
