The controversy surrounds track 10 ‘Nwoke Esike’ where Hushpuppi’s voice offers advice on hard work and perseverance.

Hushpuppi said no one should compete with themselves, adding that “everybody’s destination dey different. Do your best at all time and pray for yourself/ Hahah I see say pleasure to do unboxing video won kill a lot of people/ Abeg take am easy on yourself/ Go work hard abeg/ life is too short,” he said in the song.

When his motive was questioned and asked what wisdom people could gain from a convicted fraudster, Phyno responded swiftly, slamming critics for their ignorance about music promotion. The rapper argued that if he had featured a convicted US rapper like Young Thug, fans would eagerly listen without hesitation.

“Go and sleep if u no sabi game!!! If young thug or el chapo talk for song now you go rush first play am..ngwere isi red.” Phyno wrote.

In 2017, they engaged in a heated online exchange after Phyno advised Hushpuppi to stop flaunting his lifestyle on social media.
