April 24, (THEWILL) — US rapper Offset has spoken publicly for the first time since being shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida on April 6.
The 34-year-old appeared on the Creators Inc. Podcast on April 24, where he shared his gratitude for being able to move and urged fans not to feel sorry for him.
Offset described his quick recovery, saying, “People get shot every day. You’ve got to keep pushing. Like the Energiser Bunny, man. Keep this s**t pushing.”
He added, “The grind don’t stop. I don’t want nobody feel sorry for me… I was blessed enough to be able to still move.”
The rapper returned to performing just days after the shooting, appearing at the University of Arkansas’s Rowfest in a wheelchair before standing on stage.
Authorities say the shooting was linked to a confrontation involving rapper Lil Tjay, though no charges have been filed. Lil Tjay was briefly detained and charged with disorderly conduct before being released.
Offset thanked fans for their support and said he is focused on recovery, family, and music.
