July 05, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United as he clearly made known to the club, and now has gone a step further to demonstrate his seriousness with a willingness to make some concessions to see that a transfer happens this summer.
Over the weekend, even with reports about Ronaldo’s transfer request, United were reportedly still committed to keeping the superstar. However, that did not stop speculations about the future destination of the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or and how much effort he is putting into securing the transfer he desires.
It is now being reported that Ronaldo is ready to relocate to a UEFA Champions League side and will accept a “considerable” pay cut to bring it about.
The forward is hopeful that a lower salary will entice top clubs to make a bid for his services. The forward’s desire to win another European championship was frequently cited as a major factor in his decision to push for a departure from United.
So far, potential suitors have included Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. Speculation of a meeting between Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes and new Stamford Bridge owner, Todd Boehly, earlier in the close-season made Chelsea’s case open. But, Mendes has also spoken with Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, especially as Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, is hesitant to approve such a transfer.
