March 16, (THEWILL) — Nigerian artiste Chike has accused social media user Chioma Nneoma Ochibili of defrauding him in a failed business deal.

The singer shared the allegations in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. He claimed he gave Ochibili $20,000 for a business venture that, according to him, never happened.

In one post, Chike expressed shock at realizing he may have been deceived:

“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money.

$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard-earned money I didn’t see either.

How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped? Even me I de laugh myself,” he wrote.

The singer also cautioned his followers against doing business with Ochibili, emphasising that the specifics of the transaction were not the main concern since the venture allegedly did not exist.

“Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud,” he added.

“For context, it was a business transaction, but when the business does not even exist that becomes fraud. When you find out that this is Chioma’s modus operandi, it becomes worrisome,” the singer stated.

Chike further said he has begun efforts to recover the money he allegedly lost.
