SAN FRANCISCO, November 14, (THEWILL) –Â Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min is in self-isolation after it broke out that four South Korea players have tested positive for COVID-19.
Though the forward is not one of the players to have contracted the virus, he is quarantining in his hotel room until further test results emerge later today.
What those results show will determine whether South Korea’s international friendly with Mexico can go ahead with the match due to take place in Austria on Saturday night.
The Korea Football Association confirmed that striker Lee Dong-jun, midfielders Kwon Chang-hoon and Hwang In-beom, goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo and an unidentified member of staff tested positive for the coronavirus after undergoing tests on Thursday.
The rest of the squad was due to be tested again on Saturday morning with the results set to determine whether their upcoming games, like tonight’s match with Mexico and Tuesday’s clash with Qatar, can go ahead.

A positive test for Son test would require self-isolation in Austria before he was allowed to re-enter the UK. Spurs will be desperate for their top scorer to be available for their huge tie against Manchester City after the international break on November 21.
It would also imply that he will miss the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Europa League fixture with Ludogorets.
