September 05, (THEWILL) — Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, is mourning the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, who passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 72.
The actress announced his passing in a heartfelt statement shared on her Instagram page on Thursday.
In her tribute, Silva described him as her “easy-go-lucky brother” and said she had accepted his death as the will of God.
“With acceptance of God’s sovereign will, we announce the call to glory of my dear brother, John Olabiyi Silva …long John Silva… Bros B… Uncle B… my easy-go-lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22, 1953 – August 29, 2025,” she wrote.
Following the announcement, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers have taken to social media to console the actress and extend their prayers to the Silva family.
