May 23, (THEWILL) – Veteran Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje was laid to rest today in her hometown in Anambra State, with family, colleagues, and friends in attendance.
Nweje, who passed away on March 21, 2025, was renowned for her impactful career, especially for her iconic motherly roles in Nigerian films.
The burial ceremony drew a large gathering of Nollywood personalities, with notable attendees including former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Nweje was widely respected for her talent, humility, and dedication to the industry.
