November 23, (THEWILL) – Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Charles Chibueze Chukwu, professionally known as Crayon, has advised his fellow artists and creatives, urging them not to be deceived into thinking that the abuse of illicit substances can serve as inspiration.

According to him, individuals lacking talent would not find creative inspiration through the consumption of weed or other illicit substances.

On his X handle, speaking in Pidgin English, he wrote: “The biggest lie na say igbo/weed/drugs dey bring inspiration, lol. Na the biggest lie, bros. You get talent, you get talent, if you no sabi, you no sabi, if you like to smoke one bag of Igbo, shishi you no vibe! Don’t be deceived. Please, say no to drugs!”

The artist signed under Mavins Record Label recently revealed that he was addicted to illicit substances for years until Mavin Records producer and CEO of Blowtime Imprint, Babyfresh, who discovered his talent, advised him to stop.

He also revealed that he no longer ingests any illicit substances.
