Agbani Darego Marks 20th Anniversary Of Winning Miss World

November 16, (THEWILL) – Agbani Darego on Tuesday marked the 20th anniversary of her emergence as Miss World.

Darego disclosed this on her Instagram page as she shared the video of herself when she was crowned 20 years ago.

In the caption, the model disclosed that she was grateful for the experience.

She said: “20 years today! Forever thankful for the experience @missworld.”

Agbani came into limelight after she became the first native African to win the Miss World beauty pageant in 2001.

Before emerging Miss World in 2001, Agbani had won national beauty pageants such as Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. At the Miss Universe competition, the model was the first Nigerian to place among the top 10 semi-finalists, finishing seventh overall.

She married billionaire Theophilus Danjuma’s first son, Ishaya, in 2007 in a private ceremony held at the Amanjena Luxury Resort in Marrakech, Morocco.
