SAN FRANCISCO, December 11, (THEWILL) – American actor, Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, popular for his role in bullying Deebo character in the “Friday” films, is dead. He died at the age of 62.
Lister’s manager, Cindy Cowan, disclosed that the former professional wrestler was found unconscious in his home in Marina Del Rey, California, Thursday afternoon, and was confirmed dead at the scene.
According to Cowan, Lister contracted COVID-19 earlier this year but he became better only to become sick again a few weeks later.
The cause of the death of the actor is yet to be disclosed as the coroner’s office is stil investigating.
“He was a gentle giant. He had a smile as broad as you could imagine. He’s going to be missed by so many. We’re all devastated,” Cowan said.
THEWILL recalls that Lister began his career as a pro wrestler before he started making movie appearances.
