BET Awards 2017: Wizkid Wins Best International Act For Second Straight Year

SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, (THEWILL) – Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has been announced the winner of the Best International Act: Africa’s category in the BET Awards 2017.

The singer was announced the winner on Saturday while the awards ceremony proper holds on Sunday, June 25, in Los Angeles, the United States.

Four Nigerian artistes, Davido, Wizkid, Mr Eazi and Tekno, were nominated for the 2017 BET Awards alongside AKA (South Africa), Babes Wodumo (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa).

This is the second straight year that Wizkid will be winning the award.

THEWILL recalls that in 2016, the ‘Closer’ singer was nominated alongside Yemi Alade – and he won while his career took a giant leap in 2017 with his collaborations with American super stars, Drake and Chris Brown.
