IGP Wants Singer Portable Probed Over Deadly Cult Groups

July 18, (THEWILL) – The Inspector-General of police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to investigate Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, for boasting that he founded two notorious cult groups in Lagos.

Spokesman of the Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, broke the news in a statement released on Monday evening.

Portable had earlier claimed he founded the Ajah Boys and One Million Boys cult groups.

The statement read, “Cultism: Police to investigate Portable over formation of One Million Boys. Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, in which he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.

“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”

The One Million Boys cult group was infamous for terrorising residents in some parts of Lagos, some years ago.

It remains to be seen if the singer founded the group as claimed. His claim has continued to elicit intense reactions on social media.
