Mary J. Blige’s Ex Demands Spousal Support

Must Read

Mary J. Blige’s divorce may have just gotten more expensive.

The singer’s estranged husband and former manager, Martin “Kendu” Isaacs, filed his response to her divorce petition this week, TMZ reports. In the paperwork, Isaacs requests spousal support from Blige, 45, and for her to pay his legal fees.

Isaacs also listed their separation as July 25, which would mean the couple’s assets would be shared up to that date.

In her initial petition, which she announced on July 28, Blige listed the separation date as “to be determined” and requested that spousal support be blocked.

The couple married in 2003. Blige cited irreconcilable differences for the split, with her rep noting, “Sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would. But there is a divine plan and a reason for everything.”
