BEVERLY HILLS, August 22, (THEWILL) – Nigerian rapper and social critic, Stephen Ugochukwu, aka Ruggedman, says he wants to take over the Nigerian movie industry.

He stated this while speaking with The Nation stressing that his decision to join the world of film is because he is already 80% involved in the entertainment industry.

“I have always wanted to do movies as far back as I can remember. God bless Francis Agwu of ‘Checkmate’ fame. I actually appeared in two Francis Agwu movies back then but as extras (waka pass) so to show you how long this was.

“During the audition, I auditioned with the likes of Tony Umez, Jumai Joseph, that’s how long I did waka pass and this is before Tonto and co so in a way I’m a veteran wakapasser.

“In 2016, I played the lead role in a movie but it never came out, it’s an MNET movie. They knew I was going to blow in the movie so they tried to hold me back.

“I have been chatting with Kunle Afolayan and Moses Nwang that I want to act, I’ve been telling them that they should use me now that I’m a bit cheap because when Steven Spielberg uses me I won’t be that cheap anymore so Moses was sharp enough, he quickly used me in his web series and it has a lot of celebrities in it but the person I’m proud to have acted alongside with Jidenna, the one who is about to take over from Kanayo O. Kanayo.”
