May 11, (THEWILL) — The Beatles are turning 3 Savile Row, the site of their last public performance, into a seven-floor museum and fan experience.
The building served as the band’s headquarters from 1968 to 1972 and is where they recorded their final album, “Let It Be”, in the basement.
Fans will be able to explore memorabilia, never-before-seen archives, and a recreated basement studio.
The top floor will feature the rooftop where the Beatles performed on January 30, 1969, playing a 42-minute set including
“Don’t Let Me Down,” “I’ve Got a Feeling,” and two versions of “Get Back” before the police stopped the concert.
The surviving members of the band, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, reflected on revisiting the building. McCartney called it “such a trip” with “so many special memories,” while Starr said it felt “like coming home.”
The museum, officially titled “The Beatles at 3 Savile Row”, will open in 2027. Fans can register for tickets and updates on the official Beatles website.
