March 31, (THEWILL) — Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence after a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27.
Police found two hydrocodone pills in his pocket, a prescription opioid used to treat severe pain.
Woods told officers he was looking at his phone and changing the radio before the crash. His Land Rover hit the back of a truck and flipped onto its side. He showed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, dilated pupils, heavy sweating, and slow movements.
He passed a breath test but refused a urine test. Woods was held for eight hours in jail and later released on bond. His court date is April 23.
President Donald Trump, whose former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, is dating Woods, said he “lives a life of pain” because of past injuries but is “doing great” after the accident.
Woods has a history of injuries, including seven back surgeries and more than 20 operations on his leg. He previously suffered a serious SUV crash in 2021 and has dealt with ongoing injuries since. He was also arrested for DUI in Florida in 2017, when police found multiple prescription drugs and THC in his system.
Woods remains listed to play in the Masters Tournament, which begins in April. This would be his first major since July 2024.
