According to Temitope, her mother revealed the secret she had withheld for decades after a prophet hinted that there was something being hidden from her.

At first, Temitope said she didn’t take it serious, but she told her husband about it, who encouraged her to query her mum about the so called secret.

When she asked her mum, the mum admitted that indeed she has been withholding a secret from her. She went further to reveal the secret, saying that the father Temitope assumed was her biological father isn’t actually her father.

Shocked by this revelation, she probed further on who her father is and the mum simply responded, Niyi.

On probing further on who the Niyi is and where he comes from, she told Temitope that he is from Ondo State and he is King Sunny Ade the musician.

At first, Temitope said she didn’t believe her mum and got into an argument with her, but her husband mediated and told her to calm down and not make trouble so the mum can further break it down.

Explaining, the elderly woman said when she was much younger, her father wanted to marry her off to an older man to which she vehemently refused.

At that point, she was already in a relationship with King Sunny Ade and was already two months pregnant with his child.

Although she confided in her mum about the pregnancy. but when Niyi did not come to claim ownership of the child or ask for her hand in marriage, her father succeeded in marrying her off to an older man.

According to Temitope’s mum, she went to Ondo in search of KSA, but didn’t find him so she remained with the older man who she didn’t love and whom she was always at logger heads with.

Her constant fights with her older husband earned her beatings or being thrown out of the house especially when she refuses to have sex with him.

Eventually, she left the older man and returned home, where she stayed until she delivered Temitope. She then remarried, went with her new husband and left Temitope with her mum.

When she clocked 2 years, the older ex-husband of her mum returned to take her, convinced she was his child. He refused to send her to school and she was unhappy living with him.

She returned to her grandmother eventually and then met and married her husband. She relocated with him to Northern Nigeria and was there for 10 years where she had all her children.

According to Temitope, all these while, she never saw her mother who remarried and left her with her grandmother as a toddler, again.

Temitope and her husband would eventually relocate to Lagos and she managed to finally meet her mum who would sometimes spend time with her in her matrimonial home, but in all those years they reconciled, she never mentioned to Temitope who her biological father is. This according to Temitope was what infuriated her.

So after her mum revealed to her who her biological father was, they went in search of him in Ondo, but didn’t succeed in meeting him. On another occasion, they went in search of KSA, but still didn’t succeed in seeing him.

Someone now asked them to seize the opportunity of a festival that usually takes place in Ondo which KSA doesn’t miss, to see him.

Luckily they met him performing, but couldn’t get close to him as he was performing surrounded by bodyguards. Even after the performance, they still couldn’t get to meet with him as all the people that were supposed to have accompanied her and her child on the trip, who knew KSA, disappointed her and didn’t show up.

So she left Ondo State in frustration and according to her, has been doing everything possible to get to meet him, but all has been in vain.

She then approached the National Human Rights Commission, who wrote him twice with her pictures attached asking for a chance to resolve the paternity dispute, but all was in vain.

Temitope says she is only interested in reconnecting with her roots, her real background through her father adding that she is not going public because of his money or prestige.
