April 09, (THEWILL) — Jasveen Sangha, the drug dealer known as the “Ketamine Queen”, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the death of Matthew Perry.
Sangha, 42, pleaded guilty to five federal charges, including distributing ketamine resulting in death. Prosecutors said she supplied the fatal dose that led to Perry’s overdose in October 2023.
Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing on “Friends”, was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. The medical examiner ruled his death was caused by the “acute effects of ketamine.”
Prosecutors described Sangha’s North Hollywood home as a “drug-selling emporium,” alleging she supplied ketamine and other drugs to wealthy clients.
In court, Sangha admitted her actions caused harm. She said her decisions “shattered people’s lives” and that she felt “deeply ashamed.” The judge, however, noted she continued selling drugs even after learning of fatal overdoses linked to her supply.
Perry’s stepmother, Debbie Perry, called the damage “irreversible” and urged the court to impose the maximum sentence.
His stepfather, Keith Morrison, described the ruling as “a highly reasoned” decision, adding: “We miss Matthew dreadfully… Nobody won today.”
Sangha is one of five people charged in connection with Perry’s death and the only one who admitted supplying the fatal dose. Two doctors have already been sentenced, while others, including Perry’s assistant, are awaiting sentencing.
Authorities said the case exposed how people around the actor exploited his long struggle with addiction.
Perry had been undergoing supervised ketamine therapy for depression, but began seeking more of the drug illegally in the weeks before his death.
