June 27, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma has addressed the controversy surrounding her age.
A few days ago, the actress had posted a statement online, saying that she would turn 35 years. The statement was greeted with criticism as fans and colleagues insisted she was already past 40 years.
However, in response, the actress posted a photograph of her mother on Instagram, claiming that she was in her 50s.
Danjuma argued that she had no reason to reduce her age because she was not looking for a job and did need validation from anybody.
She wrote, “This is my mom who is in her 50s. So how in God’s name will I be 46? Am I reducing my age because
I need a job in a company? I am the CEO of mine. Am I also reducing my age for Nollywood? An actor can act both young and old roles. Makeup can be applied.
“Am I reducing my age because of school? I have enough certificates already. Reducing my age because of relationship? A good man will love his woman, regardless of her age. Reduce my age for your validation? I DONT GIVE 2 F’ssss about you sugar. It is not everyone in a class that are of the same age. In secondary school I had people who were five years older than me in my class.
“In the university, my assistant rep was 45 years-old. In my Master’s degree class, my class rep was 23 and I was 34. In my MBA, I had both young and old classmates. Just because you acted a movie with me does NOT mean we are the same age. You are asking for my birth certificate, have you seen your own parents’ birth certificate before?
“That it took you time to achieve something in your life does not mean I have to run your race. We all have different glories and destinies. The fact that you started school late and failed entrance exam a couple of times is none of my business. We don’t have the same IQ. Stupid people saying they watched me as a kid. I was in the industry for ONLY TWO years before I got married. Bomboclat can’t stand my glory ..

To the clowns talking unintelligently about my age, MIND YOUR BIZ THAT PAYS YOU. Any age, race, class can act in a movie. Anyone can be a star at any age, no rules to follow.
