July 02, (THEWILL) – American actor, Denzel Washington, is set to receive a presidential medal from the Joe Biden administration.
This was confirmed by the US presidency in a statement, in which it was said that the award will be presented at the White House on Thursday, July 7.
The award will honour those that “have exemplary contribution to the prosperity, values or security of the United States, world peace and other significant societal and public or private sectors”.
Other stars who are set to receive the award includes Simone Biles, Sandra Lindsay,(the nurse who received COVID-19 vaccine on live TV) Megan Rapinoe, the late Apple founder, Steve Jobs, will get a posthumous medal.
“They have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments in the arts and sciences, dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among us and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities and across the world, while blazing trails for generations to come”, said White House in a statement.
