July 12, (THEWILL) – The candidate of the Social Democratic Party for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency in Ogun State, Adeola Azeez, has urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to preach love and strive for unity among other religious believers in the country.
Azeez disclosed this in her Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslim faithfuls in the constituency comprising of Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu North East and Odogbolu.
The Daughter of elder statesman, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, who distributed cash, rice and ram gifts to Muslims in her constituency, charged them to be tolerant and live peacefully with other believers, especially Christians in the country
She said that lack of love and unity among believers in the country had resulted in religious crises in the past, appealing to Muslims to show the spirit of faith, perseverance, and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim when he was reminded to fulfil his promise by sacrificing his son.
Azeez noted Nigeria could only remain in unity if every religion believers preach and practice love and oneness through tolerance, so that the labour of our founding fathers for a united Nigeria would not be in vain
“Eid Mubarak, may this beautiful occasion of Eid give you all reasons to make your life even more beautiful. Strive for peace and unity of nation, be tolerant with other religions and shun religious war or crisis. Both Christian and Muslims should relate peacefully”, She said.
