June 9, (THEWILL)- The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has been elevated to the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Nigeria’s premier university, the University of Ibadan.
The management of the university, which said the promotion was long overdue, backdated it to 2022. She is now due for the rank of a full-fledged Professor in 2025.
Dr. Oyebanji started her stellar academic career at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, in 2000 where she lectured for 13 years before she transferred her services to the University of Ibadan in 2013 for family reasons.
She has produced many PhD graduates in the course of her academic career and during her tour of duty as the First Lady of Ekiti State.
While still holding office as the First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Oyebanji still performs community service by lecturing at the Ekiti State University and Afe Babalola University, both located in Ado Ekiti, a gesture that has received local, national and global commendation.
