BEVERLY HILLS, October 7, (THEWILL) – Veteran American singer and songwriter, Lionel Richie, is celebrating the 38th anniversary of his first solo recording, self titled: Lionel Richie, which debuted on October 6, 1982.
The album was recorded and released while he was still a member of the group Commodores. He left the group shortly after the album’s release.
The music composer took to his Facebook page to applaud his fans for their unflinching support over the years through.
He wrote: “Can’t believe it’s been 38 years! Happy anniversary to my very first solo record. Thank you all for the love and support throughout the years, I’m TRULY grateful! What’s your favourite track?”
THEWILL notes that Richie was a member of the Commodores, where he started in music career in 1968.
